FAQ

If you are coming to THE WRITE TRAIL in the London Borough of Ealing take a look at these frequently asked questions:

What events are taking place in the month of May?

Information about all our events is on the website. Please spend time taking a look at the special events that we have planned especially for you.

Where are the events taking place?

Please refer to the individual event listing for the exact location of the event. We have multiple workshops taking place in the month of May, most of which are in Ealing, W5.

How much do your events cost?

The vast majority of events are FREE to attend, including those which require a ticket.

Do I need to register to attend?

Yes. We have limited spaces available so booking early is recommended

Do you let in latecomers?

Many if not all of our events do get full. We encourage people to turn up on time to avoid disappointment. If there is space in the room, and the organisers do not feel the session will be disturbed by late arrivals, then we will allow people in after the start of the event.

Please note that admittance to any event is always at the discretion of the event organiser.

Our Workshops

Our workshops are designed to offer a safe and supportive space for expression. However, if any participant behaves in a way that threatens the group's harmony, they may be requested to leave.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend that you arrive at the venue 10-12 minutes before the event is scheduled to start.

If I have a ticket is my place guaranteed?

Admission is on a first-come-first-served basis for those WITH TICKETS.

Especially for the writing workshops that are FREE, not everyone who books uses their ticket, so, to ensure a full house, we allocate more tickets than there are places. We also run returns queues at our workshops and fill any empty seats with those waiting outside the venue shortly before the start of the workshop. This usually means we have a full house without having to turn people away, but there may be occasions when we do have more people than seats available. Please ensure you arrive at least 10-12 minutes before the start time to avoid disappointment.

The event is fully booked – can I get a ticket somehow?

It is not possible to get a ticket once the event is fully booked, but for our online and in-person workshops, we run returns queues – a physical queue of people waiting outside the venue (a virtual one for those waiting online). If any seats are left empty by ticketholders, we will fill those seats with people waiting in the returns queue on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry via the returns queue is not guaranteed. Please contact us for more details: contact@thewritetrail.co.uk

I have paid for my ticket but I am unable to make the writing workshop. Can I get a refund?

Regrettably, refunds are unavailable.

Can I bring food and drink with me to the events?

In the case of in-person writing workshops, no food or drink, with the exception of water and/or a hot beverage is allowed to be consumed.

In the case of our Health & Wellbeing Seminar (14 May 2024) and our Spoken word open-mic event (31 May 2024), we will be providing some refreshments.

Photography

Please be advised that filming and photographs will be taken at the events for promotional and archival purposes. The photographs and recordings made are likely to appear on our website. If you would prefer not to be photographed please let the photographer know.

For our writing workshops, rest assured, that no one will be photographed/filmed during the session. We respect the privacy of your writing space.

I have an access requirement – who should I get in touch with about attending the event?

If you have any access requirements, please contact the event organiser as far as possible in advance of the event you are planning to attend so that arrangements, where possible, can be made.

I have a query that you have not answered above – who do I contact?

You can email us at contact@thewritetrail.co.uk If you think there is an important question(s) missing, let us know, so we can add it in and try to help as many people as possible.
