THE WRITE TRAIL takes place throughout the whole month of May, aligning perfectly with both National Walking Month and Mental Health Awareness Week (13 May 2024 – 19 May 2024).
This year’s theme is “Movement: Moving More for our Mental Health” and we are proud to introduce further movers and shakers to our collective of creatives.

DR RAJ CHANDOK

Join Dr Raj Chandok and guests for an interactive Health and Wellbeing seminar during Mental Health Awareness Week.
Dr Raj S. Chandok has worked in the Frontline NHS for 28 years and has been the Lead GP at his NHS General Practice for 24 years, serving over 14,200 Patients in Southall & Hayes, North West London. He has a continuum of responsibility from the oversight of operational day to day management, to achieving the long term strategic objectives and development of the partnership.
Raj leads a team of 40 clinical and non-clinical colleagues, his clinical team have dedicated roles covering the breadth of responsibilities in a large suburban practice. His practice is noted for providing high-quality holistic primary care services to a predominantly South Asian population.
Raj is recognised for his research in the field of diabetes and has been honoured with multiple awards for his significant contributions to improving diabetes care. He has had several publications. Raj’s research interests and expertise involve the examination of evolving trends in continuity of care and consultation modes within general practice, with a particular focus on the dynamic shifts occurring in the nature of doctor-patient relationships.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Physicians. Holding Fellowships from both Colleges is a unique and distinct attainment.

Join Rachel on Saturday 11 May 2024 for the Walk It Out: The WRITE Way women-only workshop
Rachel Danso, Founder of Women Walking With Purpose. A women's community group started just after the first lockdown in 2020 as a response to people speaking about loneliness, a breakdown in community and the need for more physical exercise. Women can access several social and wellbeing activities alongside the monthly walk.
Rachel an amateur writer, enjoys journaling, writing poems and mini-stories and recently had a short piece featured in an anthology. Rachel loves the feel of the pen to hand and firmly believes we all have something to say and a message for someone to benefit from.
Rachel is a Menopause Mentor helping women and their families to positively navigate life during menopause. She will be launching her new menopause project in early summer 2024 - watch this space. In her downtime Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, delving into her artistic nature and playing social football with her team in Ealing.
