Found Poetry
Thursday 16 May, | Time: 10am - 12pm | Venue: Ealing Central Library | Capacity: 15 guests | Age: 16+
Sometimes the hardest part about writing is finding the right words to get you started. Problem solved! In this workshop we will use existing bits of text found in books and magazines to create our own original pieces. Your task will be to either eliminate text that is not part of your poem (blackout poetry) or to cut, rearrange, and paste words into a poem (cut-out poetry). Both techniques will be learned and used as we piece our poetry together.
These short poems might even become the inspiration for further writing in the form of essays or fiction. You will leave this fun and laid-back session with a few finished poems and loads of inspiration from your fellow-poets.
This workshop will be led by Brittany Lopez Burton.
