Stories, Community, and (my) Place
Tuesday 07 May 2024 | Venue: Perivale Community Hive, Perivale Library | Time: 1.30pm – 3.30pm | Cost: FREE | Capacity: 10 guests | Age: 18+
When you think of your local surroundings, what words immediately come to mind? What vivid scenes spring to life in your imagination? If you were to introduce any part of your Borough to a stranger, what would be the first thing you’d share?
In this workshop, we’ll use enjoyable visual and writing prompts to playfully immerse ourselves in the art of storytelling about the places we call home. Together, we’ll celebrate the essence of community and place.
With encouragement and support, we’ll unleash our creativity to collaboratively craft written as well as visual pieces centred around the theme, ‘My Place’.
Writing Ability: Suitable for all writing abilities.
What to bring: Notepad and pen/pencil – all other materials will be provided.
This workshop will be led by
Dr Poonam Madar.

How to Start Writing
Tuesday 07 May 2024 | Venue: Online | Time: 6.30pm - 8.30pm | Cost: FREE | Age: 18+ | Capacity: 15 guests
This is a hands-on, pen-to-paper class, designed to get you writing.
We all feel blocked at times - artistically, emotionally or mentally. We can be terrified of the blank page. Some of us dream of writing, but don’t know where or how to start.
Using sensory prompts, some writing rules, warm-up exercises and more, this class will help you free yourself, inside and on paper.
The first step can be the hardest, but it’s a lot easier when it’s done together.
Writing Ability: Suitable for all writing abilities
What to bring: Paper and pen or pencil and one spice or dried herb from your kitchen.
This workshop will be led by Tomek Mossakowski.
